Offer Description
The National Institute of Horticultural Research is seeking a candidate for the position of Institute Professor at the Centre for Innovative and Sustainable Horticultural Technologies.

The Candidate's responsibilities will include:
1) Initiating and conducting research and development work to enhance the potential of the horticultural sector, including:
- the use of bioinformatics methods to assist in breeding varieties with increased resistance to biotic and abiotic stresses and also in the reintroduction of endangered species into the wild,
- exploration of research topics are related to water management and rational use of natural resources, effective cultivation of horticultural crops and production of high-quality food with functional food characteristics, rational soil management and reduction of the negative effects of chemical plant protection products and fertilizers.
2) Applying for funds to conduct new research projects using CIZTO's research capabilities and infrastructure.
3) Taking steps to implement Living-Lab communication procedures into CIZTO's practice, in order to strengthen cooperation between the Institute's scientific teams and external entities.
4) Publication and dissemination of research results, active participation in Polish and international conferences.
The candidate should have a postdoctoral degree in agricultural sciences in the discipline of horticulture or related sciences and experience in experimental work with plants, interdisciplinary knowledge in the field of horticultural crops, as well as qualifications and skills to achieve the goals of the Centre for Innovative and Sustainable Horticultural Technologies.
Required:
- at least 10 years of work experience in a scientific unit or units in a research position,
- at least 3 years of experience in leading research teams,
- good knowledge of English with special terminology and experience in working in international projects to write scientific papers.
