Offer Description
Scientific area: Portuguese Studies — Modern Literature
In compliance with the provisions of article 7 of the FCT Research Grants Regulation (Reg. nº 950/2019), applicants must:
a) hold a PhD degree obtained in the three years prior to the date of submission of the scholarship application;
b) have carried out the research work that led to the award of the doctoral degree in an entity other than the entity hosting the grant;
c) not exceed, with the conclusion of the scholarship contract in question, including possible renewals, an accumulated period of three years in this type of scholarship, consecutive or interpolated;
d) not have had previously a post-doctoral research fellowship contract with FCSH.
Academic degrees obtained in foreign countries require registration by a Portuguese HEI, in accordance with Decree-law nº 66/2018, of August 26th, and Portaria nº 33/2019, of January 25th. Work plan:
The research fellow will develop his work within the scope of the Modernismo project, with the following specific tasks: (1) treatment and editing of the estates of Ronald de Carvalho and Armando Côrtes-Rodrigues; (2) creation and maintenance of two new pages dedicated to each of the new collections on the Modernismo.pt website; (3) contribution to scientific publication.
Duration of the fellowship: the fellowship will last for 4 months, starting in October 2023. The fellowship contract may be renewable.
Application submission deadline: The call for the scholarship is open from July 31st to August 18th 2023.

- Curriculum Vitae, with evidence of the required elements;
- Doctoral Degree Certificate;
- Motivation Letter.
If the doctoral degree was obtained in foreign higher education institutions, it is necessary to present the recognition of the degree obtained, in accordance with DL Nº 66/2018, of 16 August; or, in the absence of recognition at the time of application, declaration under oath that you will make this recognition before contracting the Scholarship in case you are the selected candidate. However, it is mandatory to present the recognition by the time the scholarship is contracted.
Amount of monthly maintenance allowance: the amount of the scholarship corresponds to € 1,741, according to the table of values of scholarships awarded directly by FCT, I.P. in Portugal (http://www.fct.pt/apoios/bolsas/valores). To this amount is added the voluntary social insurance corresponding to the first level, in case the candidate opts for its attribution, as well as the personal accident insurance.
Workplace: The work will be developed at the Institute for the Study of Literature and Tradition (IELT).
