Applications are invited for appointment as Senior Research Assistant / Research Assistant I/II (2 posts) in the School of Biological Sciences (Ref.: 520901), to commence as soon as possible for one year, with the possibility of renewal subject to satisfactory performance.
The applicants should possess a Bachelor’s degree or above in marine biology/ecology related disciplines. Experience in seagrass ecology, seagrass restoration, coastal ecological surveys/fieldwork, sediment core sampling, would be an advantage. Applicants should be organized and self-motivated, with strong communication skills, the ability to work independently and as part of a team, experience in planning and conducting fieldwork in intertidal/subtidal environments. The appointee will participate in research projects related to seagrass conservation and restoration in Hong Kong, mainly through field work and lab experiments. The appointee may be required to work at SWIMS facilities located on the HKU main campus and at Cape D’Aguilar.
