Offer Description: Doctoral student position in Veterinary Sciences at Estonian University of Life Sciences (Tartu, Estonia).
Project title: Volatolomic studies for viable in vitro produced embryo selection in bovine.
Duties: The proposed research project is related with the analysis of the volatile organic compounds (VOCs) emitted by embryos during in vitro culture, for the selection of the viable embryos in the assisted reproduction field. The work will consist of in vitro fertilisation of bovine embryos, volatile sampling during embryo development, and VOCs analysis employing gas chromatography mass spectrometry and chemical gas sensors.
Eligibility: Master degree in Biology, Genetic Engineering, Veterinary Medicine, Analytical Chemistry, Biochemistry, Electronic Engineering or a related field.
Assessment criteria: Some experience in in vitro fertilisation and/or cell culture, gas chromatography mass spectrometry (GC-MS) and/or chemical gas sensors. Very good English.

Salary: The selected candidate will have a temporary employment contract. Gross salary: 1718 €/month.
