Offer Description
The selected candidate will join the Research Center for Greenhouse Gas Innovation (RCGI), an Engineering Research Center (ERC) jointly funded by the São Paulo Research Foundation (FAPESP) and Shell based at the University of São Paulo's Engineering School in Brazil, where he/she will perform research in line with the main objectives of the project:
1. To survey environmental regulation of offshore wind energy related to Cumulative Impact Assessment in selected countries and Brazilian regulations;
2. To survey the state-of-the-art of Cumulative Impact Assessment of offshore wind energy development;
3. Preparation of guidelines for addressing Cumulative Impact Assessment in the environmental assessments of offshore wind energy projects;
4. Discussion of the potential cumulative impacts of offshore wind farms in combination with other activities on the Brazilian coast.
This project is suitable for a highly motivated candidate and requires demonstrated expertise in Environmental and Social Impact Assessment and Cumulative Impact Assessment. The candidate must have a university degree in environmental engineering, biological sciences or related areas. Intermediate knowledge of English is required. Experience in developing Cumulative Impact Assessment projects is a differential.
This call offers 1 (one) grant for this project. This postdoc fellowship is funded by FUSP (USP Support Foundation). The scholarship will cover a standard maintenance stipend of R$ 9.500,00 per month.
