Are you interested in developing solutions on industrial and societal challenges related to renewable energy systems, circular and bioeconomy, process industry and healthcare?
We are looking for new team members.
The department and research group:
The research group Operations Research and Economics is part of the department Sustainable Energy Technology in SINTEF Industry. We perform analyses and develop advances models and tools, used for operational and strategic planning, to give decision support for public and private actors. We combine operations research, economics, environmental impacts, and technology competence in modelling of value chains and portfolios. We use optimization, mathematical and economic theory as basis for our research. We use a system perspective, modelling and analysing complex industrial and societal relations, and we include system dynamics and uncertainty analyses in our modelling.

Qualifications:
- Engagement, willingness, and desire to develop a strong research community together with colleagues.
- Quantitative analyses in one or more of the following:
- Optimization / Operational analysis
- Economics / Econometrics
- Modelling / Simulation / Data processing
- Good programming skills is an advantage.
We are looking for candidates with a minimum of master's degree. PhD would be beneficial.
Main work tasks:
- Develop decision support tools and perform analyses combining technological, economic, and environmental aspects.
- Establish new projects and networks for SINTEF.
- Scientific work and project management, in close collaboration with our customers and partners in Norway and abroad.
- Develop models, using mathematical and economic theory in some of our strategic focus areas:
- Energy systems and zero emission technologies
- Circular economy and modelling of sustainability in decision support tools
- Value chain optimization
- Production and transport planning
About you:
- Want to work with applied research in tight collaboration with our customers.
- Are professionally skilled, committed, and curious.
- Have good collaboration skills, are team players and have good project implementation skills.
- Communicate well, internally as well as externally.
- Master English both in writing and orally and are knowledgeable in Norwegian.
