Offer Description
Active participation in research, teaching and administration in the field of International Politics (Univ.-Prof. Dr. Ulrich Brand). This involves:
- Developing and strengthening your independent research profile
- Participation in research projects
- Project applications and the acquisition of third-party funding
- Assistance in the university-wide Research Network Latin America
- International publications and presentations
- Independent teaching of courses as defined by the collective bargaining agreement
- Supervision of students
- Participation in evaluation measures and quality assurance
- Participation in the department administration as well as in teaching and research administration
Requirements
- Doctoral Degree (PhD or equivalent) in political science or another relevant social science or humanities discipline
- Expertise in the field of International Politics, critical International Political Economy and Latin America
- Interest in research on state and state theory as well as “imperial mode of living”
- Good knowledge of qualitative methods of empirical social research required, knowledge of quantitative methods desirable
- Proven ability to publish in highly ranked international journals (peer reviewed according to the standards of the discipline)
- Didactic skills
- High ability to express yourself both orally and in writing
- Excellent command of written and spoken German, English and Spanish
- IT user skills
- Ability to work in a team
Would be an advantage
- Teaching experience in the field of political science or another discipline with relevance for political science / Experience in e-learning
- Experience in (external) fundraising
- Experience with working in research projects
- Experience with presenting your research at international conferences
Desirable qualifications are
- Knowledge of university processes and structures
- Relevant experience outside of Austria
- Experience with supervising students
- Ability to teach in English and German
