The physicist will work on the project PCE 30/2022, entitled “Ignition of Hydrogen-Air Mixtures by Compact, Passively Q-Switched Nd:YAG/Cr4+:YAG Spark Plug-Like Laser Devices,” acronym IGNY-HY-LASER

The project deals with ignition by laser of H2-air mixtures in a static chamber.

The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:
- Characterization (theoretical modeling) of plasma induced by laser ignition
- Ability to use high peak-power lasers (Nd:YAG/Cr4+:YAG);
- Ability to write national or international project proposals;
- Ability to integrate and work in a research group.
- A scientific position as Senior Researcher - third degree (CS III) is mandatory.
Computer skills (Windows, Office, Origin, Labview).
A recommendation is necessary from the PhD supervisor or the head of the department, the laboratory or the department in INFLPR or the institution where the candidate worked previously or is working currently.

Required research experience
• The candidate must have thorough knowledge (specialization) of plasma physics. Basic knowledge of laser emission methods and laser performance characterization, and experience in working with solid-state lasers are an advantage;
• Very good knowledge of the English language at written/read/spoken level is mandatory
• Experience in national/international research projects is desirable.

Additional Information
The exam will have a first stage of analysis of the candidates Curriculum Vitae (which is eliminatory), followed by an examination (interview).
- Type of contract: Temporary, only during the project development (until 30 November 2024); any change in the project duration (stopping or extension) will be considered correspondingly.
