britishacademy

The British academy has published a statement on the future of European research collaboration, describing implications for research on social sciences in the humanities due to the Brexit. It seeks to build confidence and reduce uncertainty for UK-based researchers and other European partners.

The Academy suggested an announcement of a guarantee for applications to the European Research Council and the Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions, and unhindered support for third country participation in Horizon Europe.

Furthermore, it was stated that continued ease of mobility for researchers between the UK and the rest of Europe should be ensured. The British Academy sees Horizon Europe and European research collaboration as a crucial part in achieving the UK government’s goal of being a research superpower. The released statement signalled the UK’s continuing commitment to future research collaboration and mobility.
