The European Union Delegation to the United States has announced a new call for proposals from the European Commission's Directorate-General for International Cooperation and Development (DG DEVCO) entitled EU-US: Getting to Know Europe, Transatlantic Civil Society Dialogues, and Building Partnership on the Future of Work.

The call for proposals and tenders features a budget of €1.6 million (approximately USD $1.76 million)

The Partnership Instrument (PI) is the EU's first instrument specifically designed to promote the Union's strategic interests worldwide by reinforcing its external strategies, policies, and actions. The relationship between the European Union and United States is critically important to both sides, whether on economic, political, social, or security issues. Their histories have been closely intertwined, never more so than over the past 70 years.

The global objective of this call for proposals is threefold:

  1. To increase knowledge, understanding, and appreciation of the European Union in the United States, particularly among young people
  2. To increase ties, cooperation and understanding between EU and U.S. civil society groups through dialogue on a wide range of issues in EU-U.S. relations, complementing formal policy dialogue at government level
  3. To reinforce strategic alliance with the United States through the exchange of best practices in the area of the future of work that can feed current EU-U.S. policy dialogues.

This Call for Proposals focuses on three priority areas:

  1. Enhancing widespread knowledge of the Union and raising its profile
  2. Strengthening and stimulating dialogues between EU and U.S. civil society organizations
  3. Supporting exchange of best policy practice in the area of the Future of Work

Actions to be funded under this Call for Proposals will have to address only oneof the following three thematic priorities:

  1. Getting to Know Europe
  2. Transatlantic Civil Society Dialogues
  3. Building Partnerships on the Future of Work
