We are proud to announce our collaboration with the organizers of Falling Walls Labs in Canada. The supported winners will be awarded an additional EURAXESS North America prize, detailed below!
The University of Manitoba is hosting a Falling Walls Lab (FWL) this year, with the science slam open to students, entrepreneurs, early-career researchers, and academics of all disciplines. Which wall will your research break? Pitch your innovative idea in just three minutes, showcasing a breakthrough that creates a positive impact on science and society. FWL is an international forum for the next generation of outstanding innovators and creative thinkers; its aim is to promote exceptional ideas and to connect promising scientists and entrepreneurs from all fields on a global level. Participants get the opportunity to present their research work, business model, or initiative to peers, a high-caliber jury made up of experts from academia and business, and the general public.
The deadline to apply is Friday, July 22nd, 2022. The competition will take place in English on Tuesday, September 13th, 2022 at the University of Manitoba (in person). Residents of Manitoba of all nationalities are invited to apply. For additional eligibility information, click the buttons below.
The winner will win a travel package to Berlin, Germany to present at the Falling Walls Lab Finale on November 7th among many other prizes. As part of our support for the lab, EURAXESS North America is offering a CAD $500 cash prize to support travel to the lab or institution of the winner's choice during their trip to Europe. We are also offering a high-quality one-on-one science communication training, which will consist of in-depth tailored support and feedback to the candidate, building confidence and competence in presenting their project/science and for their continuing career/personal/business development. They will be put in contact with the international trainer who will share a 60-minute recorded training and other resources to prepare for an individual coaching session of up to 90 minutes to be provided in English.
