The Delegation of the European Union to Colombia, Ambassadors of European Embassies and the EURAXESS LAC Regional Coordinator will travel to the Colombian Amazon to celebrate 'Europe day' on the 9th of May 2022.

The goals of this mission are the following:

  • Celebrate Europe Day in the triple Amazon border to show the priority that should be given to the environmental issue.
  • Visit the projects supported by the EU, mainly the Amacayacu Natural Park and the commitment to Sustainable Local Development (DLS)
  • Within the framework of the European Year of Youth, launch the group of young defenders for the environment together with the Youth Councilors of the Amazon for COP 27.
  • Show the importance of environmental defenders within the framework of the 'Defendamos la vida' campaign.
  • Have several interactions with various actors such as traditional and ancestral authorities, youth, communities, businessmen and scientists, among others.
