In Mountain Science Center, faculty members in the fields of bioscience,
forest science, environmental science, and earth science have been
promoting interdisciplinary research and education projects related to
mountain science.
[Research field, Contents of work]
Research in the field of earthquake source physics, in particular seismic source analysis and physics-based modeling to understand rupture evolution of large earthquakes or earthquake source physics in mountainous areas. The International Tenure Truck assistant professor shall be required to research at an institute abroad for two or more years in cooperation with mentors in our center and in the institute abroad, under the employment contract to the University of Tsukuba. In addition to this, the International Tenure Truck assistant professor shall be required to teach undergraduate (College of Geoscience) and graduate students (Master program of mountain studies, Master's Program in Geoscience and Doctoral Program in Earth Evolution Sciences).
Benefits
Full-time until March 31, 2023. The International Tenure Track assistant professor may become a tenured assistant professor after passing a review for tenure which will be performed at the last year of the tenure-track period.
Salary and allowances will be provided in accordance with the university guidelines (6,480,000 JPY/year).
