Special S&TDC Webinar on the International Linear Collider project and Japan’s Approach

This August, the International Committee for Future Accelerators (ICFA) set up an International Development Team (IDT) in preparation of the potential next-generation International Linear Collider that may be hosted in Japan.

 

A special online seminar by the leaders of the project will be held for the S&TDC members on September 8 (Tue) from 16:00 to 17:10. Please join us to learn about the objective of this future project, the possibilities it may bring and the preparations in progress.

16:00 Opening remarks

16:05 “Introduction to ILC project: Science and Technology” (25 mins)

Speaker: Prof. Toshinori Mori (University of Tokyo), Chair, Japan High Energy Physics Committee

Prof. Mori will speak about the project scope and the scientific significance of the Higgs Factory and beyond

16:30 “ILC and international environment” (15 mins)

Speaker: Prof. Tatsuya Nakada (Swiss Federal Institute of Technology, Lausanne), Chair, IDT

Prof. Nakada will introduce the strategies and collaborative efforts of the international research community

16:45 “ILC status in Japan” (15 mins)

Speaker: Prof. Satoru Yamashita (University of Tokyo), Division leader, Advanced Accelerator Association Project Promotion Division

Prof. Yamashita will explain Japan’s approach to the ILC project as well as its regional/international efforts

17:00 Q&A Session

17:10 Closing remarks
