Post-doctoral fellowship in theoretical nuclear physics in the Czech Republic

czech_academy_of_sciences_logo

Nuclear Physics Institute of the CAS, Rez/Prague, opens a post-doctoral research position in theoretical nuclear physics. Our research interests cover a broad range of topics, including ab initio approaches to nuclear and hypernuclear structure and reactions, effective field theories, electroweak and dark matter interactions with nuclei, strangeness and hadron physics, as well as high-performance computing applications to few- and many-body nuclear methods.

The applicant must hold a Ph.D. in nuclear/theoretical physics or a related field by the beginning of the postdoctoral appointment. Good mathematical and programming skills are required. Previous experience in high-performance computing will be considered as a merit. The successful candidate is expected to work closely with Tomas Dytrych and Daniel Gazda on ab initio nuclear structure approaches in low-energy electroweak and dark matter interactions.

The initial two-year appointment will start in autumn 2022 and may be extended to a third year, based on a mutual agreement and the availability of funding.

Full applications including

- curriculum vitae

- list of publications

- brief summary of past, current and future research interests and accomplishments

- two letters of recommendation

should be sent by email to Tomas Dytrych (tdytrych@gmail.com).

Applications received by September 1, 2022 will be assured of full consideration.
