  • Project description

The PCM2E laboratory (laboratory of Physico-Chemistry of

Materials and Electrolytes for Energy) at the University of Tours offers

a PhD position in the field of chemistry and electrochemistry, aiming

at developing new electroactive polymer materials for energy storage in

high energy density supercapacitors. Conjugated monomers will be

synthesized and then electrodeposited in order to fabricate and

characterize polymer films. Both p-dopable and n-dopable polymers will

be developped in order to build high voltage asymmetric polymer

pseudocapacitors. Molecular engineering will enable to tune the

electronic properties, the specific capacitance and electrochemical

stability of the electrodes.

 

The position is available for 3 years, starting in september or

october 2021. Skills in organic synthesis are required. An experience in

electrochemistry and physico-chemical characterization would be

appreciated.
