Smogathon 2017 Global Edition is a global competition for innovations in the battle against smog. We are looking for teams, startups, and bigger companies that want to fight smog with technology, science or any kind of innovation. The most-wanted categories of projects include: indoor purifying, outdoor purifying,household power & heat generation and storage, smog as a resource, new ways of smog mapping and predicting, air pollution prevention.

Semifinals will be hosted in Berkeley, London, Warsaw, Bangalore, and Hong Kong.

Two projects will be selected from each semi-final to attend the Final in Krakow (all travel and accommodation costs will be covered for up to 2 people from team).

The final will take place from the 25th to 27th of November.

1) Over the first two days, the teams will go through sessions with independent experts, who award 80% of the points counting towards the final score.

2) Six best teams will be selected to pitch their projects on the last day – during the Smogathon Grand Finale hosted at the Global Clean Air Summit conference. There, the jury will award the remaining 20% of points and the winner will be chosen.

All 12 finalists will also participate in the conference expo to showcase their projects in front of numerous politicians, administrative decision makers, investors, and business representatives from all over the world.

In addition to being awarded the title of Smogathon 2017 Global Eidition Winner, the best project will receive a monetary prize of $25 000 for project development and a contract worth $75 000 for implementation of the project in Krakow.
