    Co-organised by the Delegation of the European Union to India, Department of Biotechnology (DBT), GoI. and EURAXESS India

The European Union and the Department of Biotechnology (DBT), Government of India, have agreed to join forces on five calls under the Horizon 2020 European  Green Deal Work Programme. This action is a follow-up to the priorities identified at the EU-India Summit held on 15 July 2020 to boost cooperation in transforming our economies into carbon-neutral economies.

These five calls are part of the last and largest call launched by the European Union under its research and innovation programme ‘Horizon 2020’, with a €1 billion budget. While a number of calls will respond to the climate crisis and protecting unique ecosystems and biodiversity, it also aims to spur recovery from the coronavirus crisis by turning green challenges into innovation opportunities. The programme has a strong international dimension.

Three online Awareness Raising and Networking events will be organised each covering different call topics. These events target potential applicants to build consortia and develop project proposal for energy, circular economy, farm to fork, biodiversity and zero pollution areas. They will also offer a good opportunity to present your project idea and your competence to interested consortium/stakeholders from Europe and India.

Get involved in the development of Project Proposals!

The events will allow researchers, entrepreneurs and other stakeholders to present their project idea with a flash presentation session and allow for matchmaking and facilitate project making.

The matchmaking session will be preceded by an information session given by the European Commission and the DBT, elaborating on the scope of the call, funding modalities and how to bring about a co-funded project (see full agenda’s hereunder).

Why participate

  • First-hand information by the funders about the scope, modalities and expected impact of the call;
  • Presentation of relevant organisations and profile related to call topic(s);
  • Share your project ideas;
  • Present your organisations profile among participants;
  • Virtually meet potential partners from India and Europe and start building your consortium;
  • Discover project proposals from other participants where your organization could fit in.

Target audience

Any applicant eligible to EU Horizon 2020 and DBT rules: universities, research and technology organizations, private companies (industries/MSME/Startups), civic bodies etc.

Flash presentations

Researchers, innovators, research organisations and industries are invited to present their project ideas or profiles on above pre-identified Green Deal calls in the form of "Flash Presentations".

Representatives of industries and research organisations from across Europe and India looking to participate in these open calls are especially encouraged to present their expertise/competencies.

These flash presentations will be selected before the event, following submission of a presentation project proposal. Selection will be based on their fit theme of the call and on their degree of general interest. The presentations will last no more than 7 minutes. Please note that the number of slots available for flash presentations is limited and that not all entries can be selected.

If you wish to hold a flash presentation during the networking event, please download the flash PPT template (Click here) and submit your presentation to researchinnovationeu@gmail.com and india@euraxess.net on the dates indicated for each topic so that we can finalise the agendas.

We aim at a balanced number of presentations between European and Indian partners. You will be informed two days before each session if you have been retained for a flash presentation.

Presentations should closely enclosed guidelines for a flash PPT presentation. All submitted flash presentations will be published here after the event.
