Funding Opportunities for Indo-German Fundamental Research Projects in Life Sciences

DBT & DFG resume their open synchronized funding program for fundamental research on all the fields of life sciences.

The department of Biotechnology(DBT) and the Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG, German Research Foundation) wishes to inform the Indian and German scientific communities that it is possible for Indian and German researchers to seek synchronized funding for integrated Indo-German research projects proposing innovative approaches in the academic disciplines covered by the Department of Biotechnology and the Ministry of Science and Technology, Government of India for a duration of up to three years.

The program addresses all fields of life sciences, so the interested applicants can also apply for Indo-German projects about epidemics or pandemics such as the current COVId-19 pandemic. Please note that in line of general orientation of this program, only proposals describing fundamental research projects will be considered.

Proposals must be written in English and clearly marked as DBT-DFG proposals. They can be submitted at ay time of the year but must be submitted to both DFG and DBT in parallel in accordance with the proposal requirements of each side respectively.

Submission of proposals under this funding opportunity will be possible between 11th May 2020 and 28th February 2021. The proposals will be reviewed as soon as they are submitted, and early submission is encouraged.
