Asia-Europe Training and Youth Summit on Science and Technology Diplomacy 2025

Overview

The programme consists of two key components:

1. Online Training (23 October – 4 December 2025):
A seven-week virtual course engaging around 100 participants through webinars and workshops led by leading experts. Training sessions will be conducted every Tuesday and Thursday from 8:00–9:30 AM UTC, offering practical skills in intercultural communication, understanding science diplomacy ecosystems, and fostering cross-regional collaborations.

2. Youth Summit (15–18 December 2025, Copenhagen, Denmark):
Selected participants from the training will attend the Youth Summit, held alongside the 2nd European Science Diplomacy Conference under the Danish EU Presidency. Delegates will present a Youth Declaration on Asia-Europe Science Diplomacy, contributing to high-level policy discussions.

Who Can Apply?

The programme is open to early-career professionals (up to 35 years old) working at the intersection of science, technology, innovation, and international relations. Applicants may come from:

  • Civil Society: Research and science managers, professional associations, or academic institutions.
  • Government: Diplomats or officials in relevant ministries or agencies.

Eligible participants must be citizens of ASEM countries in Asia and Europe.

Application and Selection

Selection will prioritise motivation, demonstrated experience, and diversity in perspectives and geography. While the programme targets individuals up to 35 years old, applicants above this age with strong contributions may also be considered.
