The webinar will focus on four calls of Horizon Europe that belong to the cluster on “Food, Bioeconomy, Natural Resources, Agriculture & Environment” and the cluster on “Climate, Energy and Mobility” where international cooperation with China is encouraged.

In cluster 6, on “Food, Bioeconomy, Natural Resources, Agriculture & Environment, two specific topics will be particularly targeting the EU-China international cooperation:

Due to the scope of these two topics, international cooperation is strongly encouraged, in particular with China. These two specific topics are part of the EU-China flagship initiativeon “Food, Agriculture and Biotechnologies” in the context of the Administrative Arrangement between the European Commission and the Ministry of Science and Technology (MOST) of the People’s Republic of China on a Co-funding Mechanism for the period 2021-2024 to support collaborative research projects under the Food, Agriculture and Biotechnologies (FAB) and the Climate Change and Biodiversity (CCB) flagship initiatives.

Unless explicitly stated otherwise, Chinese entities are eligible to participate also in other Work Programme topics related to the content of the flagship initiatives, targeting low TRL projects (up to TRL4 = Technology validated in lab). The financial support to Chinese participants will be provided by MOST through the National Key R&D Programme’s Inter-governmental STI Cooperation Special Programme that includes the EU-China cooperation (Guide items 1.4 and 1.5).

The call is open to Chinese mainland-registered entities to support EU-China cooperation in FAB and CCB flagship initiatives and related fields under the Horizon Europe Programme of the EU. You could check the details of the Guide at this link.

The calls opened on 22 December 2022 with the first deadline for submission of projects on 28 March 2023.
