The EURAXESS Researchers' Night Shanghai 2017 will give the wider research community in Shanghai a sneak-preview of a recent study on EU-China Collaboration and Foresights.

The event will present and discuss the results of a recent foresight study on current trends and future trajectories of innovation in China and their implications for EU-China STI Cooperation.

本次活动将介绍并讨论最近一项前瞻性研究的成果,内容涉及中国创新的当前趋势、未来方向及其对中欧科技与创新合作的可能影响。

 

The study has used interviews, data mining, a Delphi study, and scenario planning methodologies to chart possible developments in the light of four evolving systems: policy, capabilities, societal and consumer needs, and the broader contextual environment.

该项研究按照四个不断变化的体系——政策、能力、社会需求/消费需求和更广泛的背景环境,通过采访、数据挖掘、Delphi研究和场景规划方法论来描绘今后的可能发展情况。

A one-day Foresight Workshop looking into the future of innovation in China toward 2030 will also be held on May 16th in Shanghai. The workshop will deal with current trends, future scenarios, and strategic implications for EU-China collaboration.

为期一天的前瞻性研讨会也将于5月16日在沪举行,展望中国创新直至2030年的未来趋势。该研讨会将涵盖当前趋势、未来场景及其对中欧合作的潜在战略性影响。

The workshop is part of the DragonStar Plus Project for EU-China science and technology collaboration, financed and supported by the European Commission within the H2020 Programme. It builds on the findings of a foresight study that has used interviews, data mining, and a Dephi study to investigate trajectories for Chinese innovation.

The event will be split into two parts: The first part will introduce the results of the foresight study which will include an interactive discussion session.

 

Secondly, there will be some time devoted for networking where the participants can meet other researchers from Shanghai's research community in an informal atmosphere.

Introduction on recent foresight study

Tomas Larsson

Director Kairos Future China

Tomas Larsson is the Director of ChinaLab at Kairos Future. He has directed several studies on China's innovation landscape, social change, consumer trends, and regional growth pattern. Tomas also specializes in quantitative methods for the analysis of large amounts of social data and has been responsible for the development of tools to extract consumer insight from social media. Tomas holds a M.Sc. in Nanoengineering and a M.A. in Asian Studies with a focus on China, a country where he studied and worked for four years.

 

Introduction on recent foresight study

Epaminondas Christofilopoulos

Head of International Cooperation in PRAXI Network and freelance consultant and trainer on International Cooperation.

Having a background in Physics, Environmental Studies and International Relations, Epaminondas has initially worked in the field of environment, while after moving to the PRAXI Network of the Foundation for Research and Technology, he has worked on the fields of technology transfer and research commercialization.

Since 2004, he specifically focuses on international research cooperation, coordinating several projects around the globe (Eastern Europe, Caucasus, Central and East Asia, the Gulf peninsula, Central America) and delivering seminars in Europe and Overseas. Since 2010, Epaminondas is a founding member of the Greek Node of the UN Millennium Project, a worldwide network coordinating futures research and foresight studies

Best way to enter the southern block is to go from the walking part of兴业路/Xingye Lu and turn into the block at the corner where this Häagen-Dazs (click to see picture). After entering the block you will see on your left hand a building marked Naked Hub (picture 1 and picture 2).

Take the escalator to 2nd floor and walk to the end of the hallway (see picture) and take the second escalator to the 3rd floor. There will be a registration table for the event.
