EURAXESS Grants in Practice - Fuzhou

EURAXESS held it's first Grants in Practice event in Fuzhou the capital of Fujian province 21 October 2019. The training activity teaches researchers in Fujian how to apply for Marie Curie individual fellowships and other European funding opportunitites open to Chinese researchers as well as introducing EURAXESS China and ways to find partners in China.

The event took place in front of around 200 researchers from various universitites and research institutes in Fujian province and was part of the Sino-European R&I Stakeholders Tour of China 2019 that is held by the EU Delegation in Beijing and China Science and technology Exchange Center, an agency of the Chinese Ministry of Science and Technology. The Fujian leg of the tour was hosted by the Fujian Province Science and Technology Department and the Fujian Province Science and Technology Exchange Center.

In addition to EURAXESS and the organisers, the event was attended by representatives from the Italian, German, Dutch and Polish embassies in China. Researchers and institutions in Fujian province has for long been active in Sino-European research collaboration. The event was well received by all attending, many of whom were in the process of applying for or had already received Horizon 2020 and Sino-European Co-funding grants.The participating researchers had a lot of questions in a lively Q&A session at the end of the event.
