The Brazilian National Council for Scientific and Technological Development (CNPq) recently released a call to finance outgoing and incoming research mobility with an estimated 60 million BRL budget. The goal is to support research projects that aim to contribute significantly to the development of science, technology and innovation in Brazil, through the granting of scholarships within the country and abroad.
The outgoing calls aim to support mobility of Brazilian (or foreign residents in Brazil) trainees, PhD students and postdoctoral researchers to other countries. They have different time frames (from 3 to 48 months) and are divided into 3 different categories: Senior Internship (ESN); Post-Doctorate Abroad (PDE); Sandwich Doctorate Abroad (SWE).
The incoming calls are open to attract researchers based abroad for research stays from 3 to 12 months, in various types of mobility, including partnerships with companies. Open calls on 7 different categories: Junior Post-Doctorate (DPJ); Senior Post-Doctorate (PDS); Sandwich Doctorate in the Country (SWP); Business Post-Doctorate (PDI); Business Sandwich Doctorate (SWI), visiting professors (PV).
Deadline for scholarships beginning between September 2019 and February 2020: 8 March 2019
