Understanding Horizon Europe Session for Queensland University of Technology

EURAXESS Worldwide Country Representative for Australia & New Zealand, Mr Nishant Shandilya was invited by Queensland University of Technology (QUT) to speak about Horizon Europe, on 30 July 2026. The session was facilitated by Michael McArdle, Executive Director, Office of Research Services at Queensland University of Technology.

The online session provided an overview of Horizon Europe, the EU’s Framework Programme for Research and Innovation, with a focus on Pillar I (Excellent Science) and Pillar II (Global Challenges and European Industrial Competitiveness). It explored key funding opportunities under the Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions (MSCA) and the European Research Council (ERC), while also introducing the structure and participation modalities of Pillar II. The session highlighted opportunities for Australian researchers, recent developments in EU–Australia research cooperation, and practical pathways for engaging in collaborative projects with European partners.

If you are interested to have a similar European Funding Session at your research institution/university, please send us an email at australianz@euraxess.net, to book a slot in our calendar.
