elite-s_programme

ELITE-S is a postdoctoral fellowship programme for intersectoral training, career development and mobility, offering 16 prestigious, two-year fellowships, in technology and standards development to address 5 EU priority areas: 5G, Internet of Things, Cloud computing, Cybersecurity and Data technologies. The third and last call for proposals for the ELITE-S Fellowship Programme opened on 15 July and 7 experienced researchers will be selected for a 2-year research programme in any of the 28 technology and application areas and standards studies.

Experienced researchers of any nationality can enhance their qualifications and diversify their competences by conducting a research project at a host institution in Ireland in any of the research and technology application areas of the programme.

ELITE-S is a Horizon 2020 Marie Skłodowska-Curie COFUND Action for an intersectoral training, career development and mobility fellowship programme, based at the ADAPT Centre in Dublin City University and its academic partners: Trinity College Dublin, Dublin City University, University College Dublin, Technological University Dublin, Maynooth University, Athlone Institute of Technology, and Munster Technological University.

Who?

ELITE-S Fellowships are for experienced researchers (who have a PhD or at least 4 years of research experience) of any nationality, seeking a prestigious career developing position in Ireland. At the application deadline defined for the specific call, researchers must not have resided or carried out their main activity (work, studies, etc.) in Ireland for more than 12 months in the previous 3 years. See the current call for more details.

ELITE-S welcomes applications from Researchers at Risk and candidates who have had career breaks and are looking to return to a research-based career, and from candidates who have had a non-traditional career path, including those who have built up research experience but who may not have gained a doctoral qualification (see Eligibility Criteria).

ELITE-S applicants will have freedom to choose their research project within the broad remit of the programme aims, supervisor and secondment organisation where they’ll develop ground-breaking research and an impact on standards.

Fellows will conduct their research in one of the host Institutions, undertake career development focused on becoming standardisation leaders, take part in a secondment period in industry, and work with Standards Developing Organisations such as the ISOW3COGC and NSAI.

All ELITE-S Fellows are required to undertake a secondment with an industry partner that suits their research, training and development needs. At proposal stage, supervisors will provide support in designing the secondment period.
