CISC is a Marie Curie Training Network funded by the European Commission to hire and train Early Stage Researchers (ESR) or PhD student as Collaborative Intelligence Scientists with the expertise and skillset necessary to carry-out the major tasks required to develop a Collaborative Intelligence system.
The training to be developed int he network will prepare the ESR for the following tasks:
- Modelling the dynamics of system behaviours for the production processes, IoT systems, and critical infrastructures (System Safety Engineering);
- Designing and implementing processes capable of monitoring interactions between automated systems and the humans destined to use them (Human Factors/ Neuroergonomics);
- Using data analytics and AI to create novel human-in-the-loop automation paradigms to support decision making and/or anticipate critical scenarios;
- Managing the Legal and Ethical implications in the use of physiology-recording wearable sensors and human performance data in AI algorithms.

- Fellow ESR 7 Project Title: Architecture to acquire real-time physical ergonomic assessment in the workplaces of the future
- Fellow ESR 8 Project Title: Deep Learning for Human Performance Analysis and Prediction in Safety Critical Human Computer Interactions.
- Fellow ESR 9. Project Title: Virtual reality for Human Computer Interaction: innovative information support and cyber security challenges
- Fellow ESR 10 Project: Legal and Ethical implications for the collection and use of data from physiology-recording wearables & AI algorithms for future workplace
- Fellow ESR 11 Project Title: Setting up a LIVE-LAB for Human-machine performance monitoring and prediction in automotive sector
- Fellow ESR 12 Project Title: Industrial engineering lab for Collaborative robotics. The setting of a modular testing and training environment.
- Fellow ESR 13 Project Title: Innovative approach for Safety assessment models in of Human-robotics collaboration
- Fellow ESR 14 Project Title: Development of advanced methodology for efficient job rotation performing human robotics collaborative tasks
Deadline: 18 March 2021
- 36 months contract (Wages ranging from 28.000€ to 45.000€ per year depending on EU location)
- The successful candidate will be recruited by the university on an employment contract for 36 months and enrolled on a doctoral degree programme. The role carries an attractive salary based on the rate defined by MSCA ITN 2018-20.
- Note the total amount received is adjusted by a correction coefficient for each country and may vary from employer to employer, even within the same country. Country variations on net salary may arise due to employer as well as employee payroll taxes and social security costs which must be deducted from the gross salary.
- The exact salary will be confirmed on appointment. Costs associated with research and training are covered under a separate budget allowance.
The minimum requirements for entry into the programme are:
- The candidates have to hold a Master of Science Degree or equivalent, allowing the access to PhD courses.
- The candidates must not have resided or carried out his/her main activity (work, studies, etc) in the country of his/her host organisation for more than 12 months in the 3 years immediately prior to his/her recruitment. (Short stays, such as holidays, are not taken into account).
- The candidates must be in the first four years (full-time equivalent research experience) of their research careers and have not been awarded a doctoral degree. The research experience is measured from the date when a researcher obtained the MSc degree.
- English language: candidates must demonstrate that their ability to understand and express themselves in both written and spoken English is sufficiently high for them to derive the full benefit from the network training.

Please note that as part of the CISC Marie Curie project if your project is hosted in an academic institution you will have a period of at least 18 months in secondment in an industry member of the consortium, if your project is hosted by an industry partner you will be seconded in the academic institution where your PhD is going to be registered.
