The Falling Walls Lab (FWL) is an international forum for the next generation of outstanding innovators and creative thinkers. Its aim is to promote exceptional ideas and to connect promising scientists and entrepreneurs from all fields on a global level. Participants get the opportunity to present their research work, business model, or initiative to peers, a high-calibre jury made up of experts from academia and business, and the general public - in 3 minutes each.
Candidates from all areas of knowledge can apply until 30 August 2020. This year, given the context of social isolation due to the Covid-19 pandemic, all stages of the event, including the presentation, will be in a virtual environment.
The author of the best research project, business plan or social initiative is guaranteed a place on the Falling Walls Remote 2020: The Breakthroughs of the Year (held exceptionally online this year).
Who may apply?
The competition is open to students, entrepreneurs, early-career researchers, & academics of all disciplines.
Applications must be submitted in English.
EURAXESS ASEAN Prize
EURAXESS ASEAN will provide a high-quality online science communication training to the winner of the Falling Walls Lab in Jakarta, Indonesia. The training will focus on equipping the winner with essential communication skills that are directly applicable to effectively presenting his/her innovative idea in a virtual setting. It will include individual (one-on-one) consultation and mentoring to prepare the winner for her/his participation in the “Falling Walls Breakthrough of the Year” competition. The winner will also have an additional networking opportunity since he/she will be able to connect with the winners of other Falling Walls Labs where a similar partnership between EURAXESS and Falling Walls is established.
