On Monday Jerome Pons, Head of Operations, European Union Delegation to Thailand opened a two-day workshop in Bangkok on how to prepare effective proposals for European research funding programmes. This workshop was co-organised by EURAXESS ASEAN and NSTDA with the support of the Thailand-EU Policy Dialogues Support Facility (PDSF).

In his opening remarks Mr Pons highlighted the fact that only writing about one's science is no longer enough to secure research funding. Successful proposals must demonstrate the impact that excellent research will have on society and the economy.

Dr Jose Sepulveda, the workshop expert, then led more than 50 researchers who are based in Thailand through a series of hands on exercises and discussions designed to hone their proposal preparation skills with a focus on defining research impact. Jose is a alumnus of the EU's Marie Sklodowska-Curie Actions (MSCA) programme.
