The International Institute of American Studies at Doshisha University, located in Kyoto, Japan, invites applications for a full-time researcher (Assistant Professor) on a four-year fixed-term contract, beginning April 2022 simultaneously from Japan and abroad. The applicant must have a doctoral degree or equivalent qualification. He or she must have a good command of both Japanese and English and will be expected to carry out administrative works in Japanese when employed.

Responsibilities:
(1) Coordinating all related administrative works at the International Institute of American Studies and focusing on the following duties:

･To support all the joint research projects (Bumon-Kenkyu) and other academic activities sponsored by the International Institute of American Studies

･To improve the collection of academic materials at the International Institute of American Studies

･To support the editorial board of Doshisha American Studies

(2) To make contributions to the research projects that the International Institute of American Studies promotes

(3) To pursue original independent researches and publish outcomes

(4) To make contributions to the promotion of international collaboration

(5) To engage in all other duties under the mandate of Doshisha University (such as the duties for the university's entrance examinations)
