The Pablo de Olavide University in Seville offers positions for researchers willing to implement a 2-3 years project based in Spain within the framework of the Horizon Europe Marie Skłodowska Curie postdoctoral fellowships programme (MSCA-PF-2021). All top candidates having the approval of a supervisor at UPO will have the possibility of receiving specialized training in writing a successful proposal for the next MSCA-PF call. You can apply if at the time of the call deadline for the submission of MSCA-PF proposals (September, 2021): 1) you are in the possession of a PhD and you have not obtained your PhD more than 8 years ago; 2) you comply with the mobility rule of the MSCA; 3) you choose the Pablo de Olavide University as your Host Institution. Brief description of the Centre / Research Group:

The Centre for Local Political Sociology and Policies-The Urban Governance Lab (CSPL-UGL) is an official Research Centre at the Pablo de Olavide University (UPO) that focuses on the analysis of public policy and governance processes regarding urban/territorial sustainable development from a multidisciplinary and comparative perspective. Research projects and activities are developed according to a common research agenda about the relevance of context to analyze four broad research issues. Besides ‘transversal projects’ around this common research agenda, specific projects and research activities are developed in the Lab to analyses new and specialized topics.

Research in the Lab focuses on the following topics:

  • Governance, welfare, and territorial development: territorial governance, local welfare systems, policy networks and innovation.
  • Citizens and policy processes: civic activism, public participation process, social innovation, protests events.
  • Social change, lifestyles and social inequalities: cultural scenes, social epidemiology and health inequalities, gender and equal opportunity policies, urban inequalities and segregation.
  • Public policies in a multi-level context: Area-based policies, policy design quality, theory-driven analysis and evaluation, evaluability process, participatory policy design.

Project description:

We are interested in incorporating scholar with experience in the above-mentioned topics. Candidates are encouraged to joining our team by developing research from a comparative perspective applying a multi-methodological approach on urban/territorial policies, territorial cohesion, governance, participation, local welfare and social policies, health inequalities, gender, policy analysis and evaluation.

  • EUrPol-JEAN MONNET CHAIR IN EUROPEAN URBAN POLICIES
  • URBAN IMPACTS: performance and impact of European urban policies.
  • RUCOSA: quality of life and area-based policies in deprived neighborhood.
  • REPOLURB: research network on policy innovation in municipalities.
  • CADIPAT: rationale and methods to analyze quality of territorial planning.
  • SCENES: the cultural dimension of cities through the scene perspective.
