Description

Global Sustainability Institute

The Global Sustainability Institute (GSI) at Anglia Ruskin University (ARU) was established in 2011 and has built a reputation for high impact publications across a broad range of sustainability issues. We are part of the £6m ESRC Centre for Understanding Sustainable Prosperity, have won grants from five of the UK research councils, are currently co-ordinating three EU projects, and received recognition for world-leading research and impact in the 2014 Research Excellence Framework (REF).

Consumption & Change Visiting Fellowship

Accommodation and travel covered, up to £2k. Fellowship must take place by end Sep 2017. Application deadline 7 Apr 2017.

The Consumption & Change theme of the GSI is now inviting applications for a national or international fellow to spend time with us writing a collaborative bid in 2017. Whilst applicants are completely free to suggest possible areas of collaboration, they may be interested in reflecting on our recent co-ordination of the RCUK-funded Balance Network project (concerning living and working in the digital age) and our ongoing co-ordination of the Horizon 2020 SHAPE-ENERGY project (supporting social sciences and humanities research in the energy field). The fellowship will provide successful applicants with financial support for travel costs and accommodation to spend up to eight weeks (flexible) at the GSI by the end of September 2017. Monies could also be used to fund trips to other collaborators (to be named on the resulting bid), or to invite them to Cambridge. Full details of how to apply can be found here (and are attached too).

Other opportunities

We would also like to draw your attention to our rolling call for PhD applications (start dates: Sept, Jan) and to our MSc Sustainability course (in collaboration with the Eden Project). Relatedly, we are also currently advertising for a 0.5FTE Lecturer / Senior Lecturer in Sustainability (1yr, maternity cover), which will involve a leadership role in this MSc Sustainability course.
