TALENTIA SENIOR Fellowship Program 2018 – Call for Expressions of Interest

IMIBIC welcomes expressions of interest from candidates who have a distinguished record of scholarly achievement in biomedical research.

Talentia Senior programme

Talentia Senior is a new program by the Regional Government of Andalusia, Spain, aimed at attracting and retaining researchers with an excellent scientific and leadership curriculum.

The program is open to public research institutions in Andalusia in all scientific fields.

What it offers

The Regional Government of Andalusia will grant 12 three-year Senior Researchers Fellowship contracts at public research institutions in Andalusia. The contracts may be extended for further three-year period pending a positive review from the Evaluation Committee.

Four salary levels are established. These levels will be allocated by the Evaluation Committee according to the experience and current status of the candidate in their scientific career. Amounts are gross and include Social Security Costs.

  • Level A: 92.000 EUR
  • Level B: 82.000 EUR
  • Level C: 72.000 EUR
  • Level D: 62.000 EUR

An additional lump sum will be allocated in order to contribute to relocation costs:

  • Within Spain: 2.000 EUR.
  • From the European Union: 4.000 EUR.
  • From outside the European Union: 6.000 EUR.

Fellow profile

A successful Talentia Senior fellow is likely to have proven scholarship through a strong publication record. Preference will be given to researchers that are currently engaged in research activities which are associated with one of the IMIBIC’s research programmes that are: Healthy aging and frailty, Nutrition and endocrine and metabolic diseases, Infectious and immunological diseases and organ transplants, Cancer, and Chronic and inflammatory diseases (individual research groups working in these programmes are listed here).

Eligibility

The applicants must hold a PhD degree, obtained at least five years before the call, and a potential for an excellent and international scientific career.

Deadline

The application period is from 19th November to 19th December 2018 at 15:00 (CEST).

Evaluation Criteria

  • international research experience
  • leadership ability
  • impact of their research and its transfer
  • relevance of their scientific publishing
  • PhD supervisions
  • research projects and awards obtained
  • patents and other merits

The evaluation of candidates will be carried out by a panel of international independent experts that will constitute the Evaluation Committee.

IMIBIC

The Maimonides Biomedical Research Institute of Cordoba, IMIBIC (www.imibic.org), located in Cordoba, southern Spain, is a partnership between the University of Cordoba and the Reina Sofia University Hospital. IMIBIC offers a multidisciplinary environment focused on results-oriented research and based on precision medicine and excellence in science. IMIBIC is accredited with the Excellence distinction from the Carlos III Spanish National Institute of Health and has the HR Excellence in Research Award of the European Commission.

The Institute is structured in research groups that cooperate in the implementation of 5 core scientific programmes. Our major goal is to promote biomedical innovation as a powerful engine for economic and social development. To this end, the Institute offers an active environment in which to conduct high-level scientific research. Regular seminars and research events offer the opportunity to meet with national and international speakers covering a diverse range of topics in biomedicine.

IMIBIC is a young and fast growing research institution; since 2015 it operates in the brand new IMIBIC building for basic and translational research which is strategically located within the University Health Sciences Campus, next to the Reina Sofia University Hospital. It hosts a wide variety of core facilities for researchers, including the Biomedical Research Support Units with brand new equipment and laboratories to support the technical needs of the IMIBIC community, as well as a Clinical Research Unit to support clinical trial studies. IMIBIC currently hosts over 600 researchers.
