Selected candidates will receive dedicated support from my group and from the Pre-Award Unit (USPIR) to write a successful proposal.

Prof. Rosa Solà Alberich is coordinator of the research group Functional Nutrition, Oxidation and Cardiovascular Disease Research Group (NFOC-salut)”, in the Department of Medicine and Surgery.

We are currently working on the FOOP-Sarc project. Its main aim is to add knowledge of the potential health effects and mechanism of action of sarcopenia by a dietary strategy. This dietary strategy is based on a Functional Virgin Olive Oil enriched with its own phenolic compounds (500 ppm) alone or in combination with a yoghourt enriched with probiotics (Bifidobacterium longum CECT 7347) to tackle sarcopenia by improving skeletal muscle mass and function and Cardiovascular Disease risk factors in early elderly (65-74 years) home-dwelling sarcopenic subjects.

We are looking for postdoc(s) candidates in the Sciences Area. The activities will be established based on the skills and methods required for the project, and this candidate will support the research team. More specifically, this person will be involved in the human intervention study (material preparation, volunteers contact, etc), in laboratory tasks (biomarkers assessment), research tasks as bibliography search resources, scientific communications, both written and oral, and written drafts of work presented as a manuscript.

We are looking for talented and innovative young scientists, strongly committed to high quality frontier research and able to add new insights to the existing URV core expertise. Only candidates with an outstanding record of research achievements and publications in top-quality journals will be considered.
