Description

Metabolomic Diagnostics Ltd (MDx) is a medical diagnostics company dedicated to improving women’s health. The company’s focus is on developing innovative screening tests which identifies in early pregnancy women who are at increased risk of developing preeclampsia later in their pregnancies. MDx’s innovative LC-MS/MS based transnational research platform forms the basis of the tests. MDx consists of a team of scientists and entrepreneurs with clinical support. We are currently interested in hearing from suitably qualified researchers to apply for the SFI Industry Fellowship  (deadline 23/11/17) http://www.sfi.ie/funding/funding-calls/sfi-industry-fellowship-program…. We see particular opportunity within our organisation for collaboration with candidates in the following fields:

  • Application of mass spectrometry in the clinical laboratory
  • Validation of mass spectrometric assays 
  • Regulatory requirements associated with the introduction of a novel clinical test into the market place
  • Advanced bioinformatics and biostatistics services
  • Risk Prediction algorithims
  • Preeclampsia in pregnancy

The purpose of the Science Foundation Ireland (SFI) Industry Fellowship Programme 2017 is to enhance industry-academia collaborations through the funding of collaborative industry-academia research projects, and to stimulate excellence through knowledge exchange and training of engineers and scientists.

Fellowships can have a duration between 1 and 12 months if full-time, and between 2 and 24 months if part-time. The maximum Industry Fellowship award amount is €100,000 direct costs.
