Description
The GSIC-EMIC research group at the University of Valladolid, Spain, is seeking candidates
for a PhD scholarship funded by the Spanish Ministry of Economy, Industry and Competitiveness within the context of the research project “Learning analytics to enhance
the design and orchestration in scalable, IoT-enriched, and ubiquitous Smart Learning
Environments (SmartLET)”. The selected candidate will work in the project with the goal of
obtaining a PhD degree before the end of the scholarship either in the doctorate in
Information and Telecommunications Technologies program or the Computer Engineering
doctorate program.
Duration and salary
The scholarship will have a duration of 4 years and will provide a gross salary of 16,422€ per
year, and will rise to 19,000€ per year if the PhD degree is obtained before the end of the
third year. The scholarship will also include 6.250€ to pay the expenses of short stays in
other research centers and the tuition of the doctorate program.
Requirements and profile
Candidates are expected to hold a MSc degree in Telecommunications Engineering,
Telematics Engineering, Computer Engineering or in any closely related field by September
2018. Outstanding academic record, proficiency in English and any experience related to the
project will be especially valuable in the selection process.
