EU RESEARCH FRAMEWORK PROGRAMMEHE / MSCA
LOCATIONSpain, Cerdanyola del Vallès
ORGANISATION/COMPANYAgencia Estatal Consejo Superior de Investigaciones Cientificas - Instituto de Ciencia de Materiales de Barcelona (ICMAB-CSIC)
ICMAB-CSIC is looking for postdoctoral researchers wanting to apply to Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions (MSCA) Postdoctoral Fellowships (PF) in 2022. ICMAB-CSIC has full experience in MSCA actions. It puts a big effort in MSCA-PF calls, having achieved high success rate in the last years.
The candidate will have the opportunity to join the pioneering and dynamic e-MolMat group (Molecular Materials for Electronic Devices), located at the Institute of Materials Science from Barcelona. He/she will work under the supervision of Dr. Núria Crivillers (email@example.com ) in close collaboration with Dr. Marta Mas-Torrent. The main activities of the group are the synthesis of organic molecules, surface functionalization, materials processing, and device fabrication. The group counts with all the required equipment and installations for a successful project development.
Our group webpage: https://molecularelectronics.icmab.es/
The project will be focused on the preparation of functional hybrid materials mainly self-assembled monolayers or thin films on 2D materials, conducting surfaces or nanoparticles, for molecular electronics applications. The main goal is to develop a new generation of hybrid platforms with high potential in applications as molecular switches, (bio)sensors and/or as redox mediators catalyzing relevant bio-chemical reactions. The group has a large and long expertise with these materials, which have been applied in diverse fields [see for instance: Nature Chemistry, 2011, 3, 359, Nano Lett. 2015, 15, 5, 31094; Nat. Commun. 2016, 7, 12066; Phys. Chem. Chem. Phys., 2017,19, 9313; ACS Applied Bio Materials. 2020, 3, 1, 369; J. Mat. Chem. C 2021, 9 (33), 10610]. This is a multidisciplinary and transversal project and the candidate will be part of a dynamic and international team.
How to apply
Interested candidates, please send your CV and a brief outline ofthe proposed research project (1 page maximum) to Dr. Nuria Crivillers(firstname.lastname@example.org) before July 15th 2022.
Description of MSCA Post-doctoral fellowships
The objective of PFs is to support researchers’ careers and foster excellence in research. The Postdoctoral Fellowships action targets researchers holding a PhD who wish to carry out their research activities abroad, acquire new skills and develop their careers. PFs help researchers gain experience in other countries, disciplines and non-academic sectors. The fellowship typically covers the researcher's salary (living and mobility allowance) for two years, research, training and networking activities costs and overheads for the host institution.
The mobility rule of MSCA PF requires that the researcher (candidate) has not resided or carried out their main activity (work, studies, etc.) in the country of their host organization (Spain, for ICMAB-CSIC) for more than 12 months in the 3 years immediately before the call deadline (expected to be September 14th 2022 for call 2022). Moreover, only candidates with research experience up to 8 years postdoc from the date the PhD degree was granted are eligible(with possible exceptions).
