LEADER group arises in 2017, as a research group whose interest is focused on the in-depth study, from a greater specialization, of one of the lines of AREA, such as leadership, development and educational research, backed by empirical evidence of its members, with more than 400 publications, projects and external collaborators from different universities and countries (United States, Portugal, United Kingdom, Colombia Costa Rica) URL: http://investigacion.ugr.es/ugrinvestiga/static/Buscador/!/grupos/ficha…

Project description

Our line of research and developed actions are focused on the study of leadership, development, educational research (active methodologies and innovation actions at Higher Education). In the case of leadership it is defined by the International Reports (TALIS), as a quality factor for the organizational development of institutions, a function of dynamization that resides in the group (Lorenzo Delgado, 2005) and that it is necessary to address it from the formation of leaders, the versatility of the contexts, and the importance of encouraging the innate potentialities for the sustainable development of a human group and/or an organization. In this sense, our project is nourished by different topics of great interest and relevance according to the current challenges of the knowledge society and the digital age, through different studies, some of them emanate from doctoral programs, supervised by members of the group (almost 40 directed doctoral theses), the development of educational innovation projects. In this way, there are themes, not only linked to leadership, but also others variables attending to the multiple factors intervening from the agents, the processes, the results and the context or environment of any organization, especially in educational environments.

The central axes or topics under study focus on the analysis of electronic leadership in distance universities (virtual environments, semi-presential); student leadership in different university contexts; leadership and gender in Higher Education; management and nursing leadership in public hospitals; pedagogical leadership and management models in multicultural centres; micropolitics and school management; emotional leadership, resilience and teaching innovation actions, for the improvement of educational quality; leadership, inclusion and sustainable development.
