Marie Sklodowska - Curie Actions Individual Fellowships (IF) in macroalgae biomass biorefinery

INVESTALGA AHTI SL. is a Spanish innovative blue biotech specializing in the production of high quality bioactive compounds from marine macroalgae available for use in nutrition, personal care and health markets.

We are a multidisciplinary team integrated by biologists and engineers with a broad experience in research and business development, and collaborate with R&D technology centers of “excellence”.

• BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE PROJECT

INVESTALGA is offering to host a talented researcher wishing to acquire experience in intersectoral research in non-academic environment and spend in its R&D department a 12-24 months period under the Marie Skłodowska-Curie IF program. We offer the opportunity to work in a start-up blue biotech company in a multidisciplinary environment with several cooperation agreements with leading R&D Technology Centers in Spain from different disciplines within the aquaculture, green chemistry and biorefinery sector.

Applicants with a passion for research and solving complex problems are encouraged to apply and develop innovative research focused in disruptive solutions for valorization of marine  macroalgae biomass under biorefinery models. As a producer of high quality and standardized marine macroalgae based extracts for nutraceutics, cosmoceutics and pharma sectors, INVESTALGA is really concerned about the development of innovative pre-treatment and downstream processing technologies enabling full valorization of the marine macroalgae biomass into sustainable premium quality end-products following the circular economy principles.

INVESTALGA supports any disruptive breakthrough improving the clean and sustainable sequential extraction of Ulvan sulphated polysaccharides and other primary and secondary metabolites of interest from Ulva spp. marine macroalgae biomass.

Therefore, we are waiting for independent, highly motivated, creative and passionate researchers with excellent communication skills and the ability to work in a multidisciplinary environment.

• Candidates must meet the eligibility criteria of the Marie Skłodowska-Curie IF 2019 call :
  • Minimum Experience: with PhD or have at least four years of full-time equivalent research experience at the time of the call deadline (11/09/19)
  • Mobility rule: not have resided or carried out his/her main activity (work, studies, etc.) in Spain for more than 12 months in from 11/09/2016 to 11/09/2019 or more than 36 months from 11/09/2014 to 11/09/2019.
