Description

The Research Group on InterAction and eLearning (GRIAL) is a Recognized Research Group (GIR) of the University of Salamanca leaded by Francisco José García Peñalvo, Computer Science Department Professor and, currently, it is a Consolidated Research Unit (UIC) of the Junta de Castilla y León. Its main hallmark is that it is a multidisciplinary research group that arises around the creation and application of educational technology, therefore, its composition integrates mainly computer engineers and pedagogues, but it includes humanists, librarians, philosophers or philologists, among other profiles.

GRIAL research trajectory in recent years ranges from areas of purely technical study of Information Technology to the development of teaching methods and models in the field of online learning internationally recognized and rewarded. The main research lines are:

- Visual Analytics

- Quality and evaluation in education

- Information science

- Strategic management of knowledge and technology

- Digital Humanities

- Software Engineering and Software architectures

- eLearning methodologies

- Social responsibility and inclusion

- Interactive learning systems

- Learning technologies

- ICT and educational innovation
