Future composites: development of innovative manufacturing processes and products – MSCA-IF 2018
Forster SMT GmbH is a highly innovative medium sized company and supplier of light weight, robust and fire-resistant fibre composite solutions. The service offered by SMT covers all important interfaces under one management, from conception and production to installation. The majority of our clients are from the railway sector but our solutions are also used in shipbuilding and construction.
SMT is a competent partner in optimising, designing, processing and production of fibre composites. We develop individual solutions for our clients to meet their specific technical requirements. Thanks to numerous R&D projects, also in cooperation with universities and other research institutions, SMT has meanwhile been able to develop extensive knowledge of materials and production technologies.
In order to apply for a MSCA-IF (Individual Fellowships) grant we look for an experienced researcher (post doc or at least four years of full-time research experience after graduation) with a proven track record in either manufacturing systems engineering or development of biobased or recyclate-based composites.
Possible fields of research:
· Development of fibre reinforced materials by using biopolymers, recyclate materials and/or natural fibre in compliance with the latest fire safety regulations,
· Development of additive manufacturing technology of large-scale composites or core materials by using an industrial CNC robot,
· Innovative tooling concepts: transparent moulds, heated moulds; modular tools, flexible tool and other undercuts solutions
We are open minded for further fields of research or other applicable highly innovative ideas.
Please let us know until latest 10th August 2018 if you are interested. It is supposed to submit a proposal for a MSCA Individual Fellowships grant at the deadline 12th Sept. 2018. The anticipated duration of the project is 24 months.
If required we will give support by finding an appropriate accommodation, child care (Kindergarten) and by corresponding with public authorities.
