Description

We are looking for passionate postdocs that is willing to apply for the Marie Curie Individual Fellowships (MSCA-IF) 2019 call (deadline September 2019) to join the Nutrigenomic Research Group led by the Professor Maria Cinta Bladé. Selected candidates will receive dedicated support from the group to write a successful proposal.

The Nutrigenomics Research Group has extensive experience investigating the biological effects of polyphenols. Since 1995 we have studied their bioavailability and effects on lipid and carbohydrate homeostasis, its antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties as well as its effects on blood pressure. We have always focused our studies on risk prevention genesis of diseases encompassed in the metabolic syndrome in obesity. Currently, one of the most important research lines of our Group is chrononutrition, which studies how the polyphenols effects are depending on biological rhythms as well as how these compounds can modulate the circadian and seasonal rhythms.

The Group has collaborations with both national and international research groups. For excample, we are a member of the NuGo (Nutrigenomic Organization), which is an international association of Universities and Research Institutes focusing on the joint development of the research areas of molecular nutrition, personalised nutrition, nutrigenomics and nutritional systems biology. We are also a member of the Consortium NutriEpiHealth, which includes 90 researchers from 23 different countries interested on the epigenetic effects of diet. For more information about us, see our IISPV or URV webpages.

For the Marie Curie IF call of 2019, we are looking for a postdoc with experience in metabolomics and bioinformatics, to unravel the relationship between the effects of polyphenol and seasonal rhythms from biological data from a broad range of sources previously obtained in studies carried out by our group.

Eligibility criteria:

  • Mobility rule: have not lived in Spain for longer than 12 months in the past 36 months up to 12th of September 2019.
  • Experience in programming languages (ex. R, Python, C++).
  • Publications in top ranking scientific journals.
  • English fluency and good interpersonal and communication skills.

How to apply:

Interested candidates should send a CV, a motivation letter explaining your research interests, and contact details of two referees at upi@iispv.cat (Title of the e-mail “IISPV - MSCA Prof Bladé”) by 22 April 2019.
