Description
Research at the Department of Physical & Inorganic Chemistry of the University of Valladolid. The Department counts with a full-time academic staff of about 30 persons and new laboratories at the Faculty of Science and annex research building. Research in the field of Physical Chemistry excels in Spectroscopy and Computational investigations, with several groups and laboratories developing and exploiting different techniques in rotational spectroscopy in supersonic jet expansions. Molecular investigations use spectroscopy to target different structural problems in molecules and clusters of biological and astrophysical interest.
The Marie Curie fellow will be involved in structural investigations of neutral molecules and intermolecular clusters in gas phase, using state-of-the-art ultra-high-resolution microwave spectroscopy techniques in supersonic jet expansions. Investigations will probe the conformational landscape, molecular properties and intra-/intermolecular interactions controlling molecular structure in different families of organic compounds of biological and structural interest. The experimental investigations will be assisted be quantum mechanical calculations and molecular modelling techniques.
- DESCRIPTION OF THE OFFER
The Marie Curie fellow will be fully integrated in the research group, benefiting from a range of research and academic activities, including: 1) Full participation in research projects, 2) Involvement in international collaborations, 3) Participation in direction of Ph.D. thesis, 4) Collaboration in outreach and teaching activities, 5) Attendance of international conferences and meetings.
