Call for the Expression of Interest to apply for an ERC Starting Grant hosted by the Austrian Academy of Sciences (OeAW)

You have been awarded a PhD two to seven years ago, have a promising track record and a novel project idea. Now, you are considering the next step to independence of your career and establishing your own Junior Group? The Austrian Academy of Sciences is among the most successful institutions applying for ERC grants in Austria, stipulates pioneering research, offers an inspiring academic environment with top-class facilities. The Austrian Academy of Sciences is the country’s largest non-university research institution supporting excellent research in a variety of disciplines, all with the aim of producing new and innovative insights. OeAW operates 25 research institutes in the field of innovative basic research providing a stimulating environment. The dedicated Grant Service of the OeAW offers support to applicants in the preparation of a proposal to be submitted to the upcoming ERC Starting Grant call 2021. Call deadline (yet tbc): 24 March 2021, 5p.m. (Brussels).

OeAW invites excellent post doctoral candidates eager to carry out ambitious and innovative research, ready to develop an ERC StG proposal under the first Horizon Europe ERC call hosted by the OeAW and supported by its Grant Service in the upcoming weeks and welcomes respective expressions of interest.

Grant Service is ready to assist you in checking your eligibility and liaising with the relevant research

institutes. Please fill in the pre-application form template and send it together with an abstract (1 page),

your CV and track-record as required for the ERC application, as well as the consent of the director of the

institute of your field of research to grantservice@oeaw.ac.at
