Description

The Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions Postdoctoral Fellowships 2021 (MSCA-PF previously MSCA-IF) is a unique 2-year individual fellowship to gain experience and transfer experience to the host institution boosting the career of the researcher.

OFFER

We offer training and guidance to one experienced researcher to prepare a successful research proposal for the MSCA-PF 2021 call (expected publication date May 2021 and application deadline 15th September 2021). The researcher will prepare a joint research proposal with the supervisor on the group research line. Full-time availability during summer is required to prepare a high-quality research proposal.

SCIENTIFIC PROJECT

We are looking for experienced researchers that wish to work and learn in an interdisciplinary project developing state-of-the-art chemistry for direct applications in biology. In more detail, the researcher is expected to develop a multidisciplinary project to integrate advanced knowledge of supramolecular chemistry in medicine to line up with the group research line on molecular cages with applications in drug encapsulation and delivery (further information of the research line on www.vmarti.es). Candidates are required to have experience in synthetic chemistry or supramolecular chemistry. Experience in biology is valuable but not compulsory. Through the MSCA-PF fellowship, the researcher will develop their own research project and achieve their career objectives through a tailored career development plan.

MSCA-PF ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA

The eligibility criteria defined by the Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions Postdoctoral Fellowships is strictly compulsory, this includes:

  • PhD degree
  • maximum of 8 years of full-time equivalent research experience
  • mobility rule: the applicant must not have resided or carried out his/her main activity in the country of the beneficiary for more than 12 months in the last three years immediately before the call deadline
  • researchers from any country in the world

Note: The final MSCA Work Programme has not been published yet and information may change

HOST INSTITUTE

The Interuniversity Institute for Molecular Recognition and Technological Development was created by the Valencian Government (IDM) was created in 2015 as an Institute of Interdisciplinary Research between the Universitat Politècnica de València and the Universitat de València. The four strategic objectives of IDM are:

  • Interdisciplinary and interuniversity research to enhance cooperation and to improve the efficiency of different types of work.
  • Stablishing a solid and competitive structure to become a competitive and prestigious research institue.
  • Creating Networking strategies by cooperation with other similar national or international institutes.
  • Guiding the scientific-technological capabilities to exploit the research results by developing joint company-IDM projects.

The research project will be developed at the laboratories of the IDM located at Universitat Politècnica de València that has all the facilities to develop synthetic chemistry (lab space equipped with fumehoods, NMR, UV-Vis, fluorimeter, TGA, RX, etc.). Additionally, the research group has access as internal users to different institutions for further facilities and equipment. This includes advanced NMR, microscopy, cell culture, etc.

HOW TO APPLY

Interested candidates can send a CV and a motivation letter including a one-page outline of your research idea as soon as possible, in all cases before the 15th June 2021, by email to vimarce1@upv.es with the subject "MSCA-PF 2021 application". After evaluation of the proposals, the selected candidate will be invited to prepare a joint research proposal and the application for MSCA-PF 2021 with Dr. Vicente Martí-Centelles.
