Brief description of the Research Group:
atlanTTic is the research center for Telecommunication Technologies promoted by the University of Vigo (Galicia, Spain). Based at the university campus of Vigo, atlanTTic develops its scientific activity in the field of privacy and security, multimedia technologies, data networks, and services, bioengineering, radar, satellite communications and, in general , radio and optical communications. With more than 160 professionals, it carries out an intense research and transfer activity, with participation in several H2020 projects, diverse prizes and recognitions to its work, and distinguished members of some of the most recognized academies and scientific and professional societies.
Project description:
Use of Multiple-Input Multiple-Output schemes for multibeam satellites to increase transmission rates. In particular, special focus is to be paid to non-orthogonal schemes which rely on successive interference cancellation at the receivers. Practical considerations such as partial channel state information, imperfect cancellation and lack of synchronization are topics to pursue.

The University of Vigo (UVigo) is a public Spanish university located in Galicia (Northwest Spain). It comprises 3 campuses, the main one in Vigo, and two more in Pontevedra (30 Km from Vigo) and Ourense (95 Km from Vigo).
Its activities are funded by the Spanish and Galician governments (structural and competitive funding) as well as through financing obtained from RDI activities (private contracts, collaborations with industry, patents, consultancy, etc.).
In the last years UVigo has enormously increased its scientific output and its capacity to obtain external resources, being listed in the Shanghai Academic Ranking of World Universities in 2011 and 2012. In the last 10 years, UVigo has participated in more than 60 EU research projects totalling more than 25 million euros
Elegibility criteria:
- Candidates shall be in possession of a doctoral degree or 4 years of full-time equivalent experience;
- Candidates must not have resided or carried out their main activities in Spain for more than 12 months in the 3 years immediately prior to the 12th September 2018.
