Outline

Talentia Senior is a new program by the Regional Government of Andalucía, Spain, aimed at attracting and retaining researchers with an excellent scientific and leadership curriculum.

The program is opened to research institutions in Andalucía in all scientific fields.

What is funded

Talentia Senior offers three-year contracts at public research institutions in Andalucía, with a salary package ranging from 62.000 to 92.000 EUR per year, depending on experience, and a relocation allowance between 2.000 and 6.000 EUR. The contracts could be extended for further three-year periods pending a positive review from the Evaluation Committee.

The beneficiaries will be the host institutions that will employ the selected researchers.

Four salary levels are established. This levels will be allocated by the Evaluation Committee according to the experience and current status of the candidate in their scientific career. Amounts are gross and include Social Security Costs.

- Level A: 92.000 EUR.

- Level B: 82.000 EUR.

- Level C: 72.000 EUR.

- Level D: 62.000 EUR.

An additional lump sum will be allocated in order to contribute to relocation costs:

- Within Spain: 2.000 EUR.

- From the European Union: 4.000 EUR.

- From outside the European Union: 6.000 EUR.

The host institutions will receive an additional 5% of the total costs as a compensation for indirect costs, and up to a further 1% for audit costs.

Duration

Three years, renewable for further three-year periods pending a positive review from the Evaluation Committee.

Eligibility

Applicants must be research institutions registered as Agentes del Sistema Andaluz del Conocimiento. This includes universities, research centers and research foundations.

The economic incentive should be allocated to non-economic activities, according to section 2.1.1 of the Communication from the European Commission, Framework for State aid for research and development and innovation (2014/C 198/01).

The researchers that would carry out the research activities must hold a PhD degree, obtained at least five years before 19 December 2018, and a potential for an excellent and international scientific career.
