“Computer-aided design and optimization toolbox for membrane applications”

The Institute of Chemical Engineering Sciences, Foundation of Research and Technology - Hellas, (FORTH/ICE- HT) is seeking applicants for one postdoctoral/research assignment in the context of the research project “Open Innovation Test Bed for nano-enabled Membranes (INNOMEM), which is implemented under the H2020 Research and Innovation Action.

 

Job Description

To conduct research in the framework of the aforementioned project "INNOMEM". The main objective of the specific part of INNOMEM is to provide modeling algorithms, accurate geometry reconstructions, and true-to-mechanism simulators of the flow, heat and mass transport phenomena in specific membranes.

 

Location: FORTH/ICE-HT, Patras, Greece

Duration: 12 months, with the potential of renewal

Salary: Up to 2300 €/month (cost of the employer, including social security and taxes), depending on qualifications

Envisaged starting date: 1/1/2021

 

Requirements and Qualifications

Education level: Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering.

Proven experience in research projects.

Candidates must have good knowledge of English language.

The evaluation of the candidacies will be based on the following criteria and qualifications:

Proven experience in developing CFD methods and algorithms and the usage of established CFD software for particulate systems

Application Submission

In order to be considered, the application must include:

  • Application letter
  • CV with clear description of the simulation methods developed by the applicant
  • Scanned copies of academic titles and/or certificates. If the PhD certificate is not issued yet, an official letter from the secretary of the Department is required to testify completion of all requirements
  • Statement of research interests

Any application received after the deadline will not be considered for the selection.

 

Selection Procedure

Applications that are received on time will be evaluated by a scientific committee using the criteria mentioned above. If necessary, certain candidates will be invited to a personal interview with the committee.

The outcome of the selection will be announced on the website of FORTH/ICE-HT as well as on the website of “DIAVGEIA”.
