About

Outline

IOSH is pleased to announce that its Research Fund is now open to applicants. We invite researchers worldwide to submit proposals for consideration (in English only, please) that meet either of the ‘call for bids’ statements, as outlined below.

Applicants don’t need to have a background in occupational safety and health research but should be able to demonstrate how their experience will bring fresh thinking to the development of occupational safety and health policy and practice. They should also have the research and project management skills to lead a successful proposal to completion.

What is funded

This 2019 call aims to bring together experienced researchers, academics and other experts across the globe to submit proposals that support our strategic vision to create workplaces that are safer, healthier and more sustainable in the long-term.

We're looking for research that addresses the following areas:

  • Non-health related fatalities
  • Work-related musculoskeletal disorders

Please read more about our two priority areas.

Eligibility

We encourage applications that propose collaborative research with other like-minded funding bodies and applications from researchers outside the UK.

This year, there will be a one-stage application procedure requiring a full proposal. Please note, where substantial funds are requested, a longer decision-making process will be required.

Download the call for bids process for further information.

The closing date for bids is 18 November 2019.

For any queries, please see our frequently asked questions, or contact rfunding@iosh.com

For those interested in the call for research a live webinar will take place on the 30th of October 16:00 pm (GMT+1) to go through further level of detail of the 2 themes and to solve questions from potential applicants.
