About

As part of a scheme to promote international cooperation and the dissemination of knowledge, the Department of Computer Systems at TalTech (https://www.taltech.ee/en/), offers 1-10 month research and study visits included plane tickets and monthly payment for international PhD students on topic of Hardware Reliability or any related field.

Eligibility requirement:

-reside in a country other than Estonia

-be enrolled in a doctoral program offered by an educational institution recognized by that country’s authorities

-not be enrolled as a student in a higher education institution of Estonia when the application is submitted

-stay in Estonia during the period for which the scholarship has been granted

-resume studies in his/her home country after the end of the grant period.

Each eligible student will receive:

-accommodation allowance 660€ per month

-a fixed transport allowance, which depends on the distance of residence from Estonia

How to apply:

The program will be under the supervision of Dr. Tara Ghasempouri. Please submit your CV by email (tara.ghasempouri@taltech.ee) using the subject ‘PhD short term visit’. Candidates with adequate backgrounds will be invited to interview over Skype. The starting date is negotiable but preferably immediate start.

Deadline for sending CV is 30-November-2020.

Technical requirements:

candidates must have the following at the moment:

- Being a PhD student in Computer Architecture, Computer Systems, Hardware Design or related field

- Ability to describe RTL designs (preferably in Verilog)

- Ability to write C++/python scripts for building small EDA tools

Other skills are considered a plus:

- Familiarity with the concept of verification and assertions

- Hands-on experience with data mining

- Familiarity with natural language processing

- Familiarity with neural network

- Familiarity with machine learning

- Hands-on experience with online monitoring

- Publication(s) in topics related to verification, design understanding, reliability
